Speaker Gashi: Each MP will have a say at chief prosecutor election session

Macedonian Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi said Monday that the election of a chief public prosecutor is a very important matter and that every MP who wants to will be able to speak at the session on Wednesday, and the discussion will end when the list of registered candidates is exhausted. The public debate on the draft law on the Public Prosecutor’s Office will take place at tomorrow’s session of the Parliamentary Committee on Political System and Relations between Communities.

“The public debate on the public prosecutor is tomorrow at 12:30. Only that item will be on the session on Wednesday, but tomorrow we will see if any other item meets the requirements. That is an important item. We think that the election of a public prosecutor is a very important matter. Every MP who wants to will be able to speak at the session. The session is conducted according to Article 120 of the Rules of Procedure, anyone who wants to speak can register and the discussion will continue until the list of registered speakers is exhausted ,” Gashi told a press briefing Monday.
