Sixteen victims in the Laskarci bus crash – verdict overturned. Fourteen victims in the Modular Hospital fire – no indictment filed. The “Mazut” case worth EUR 167 million – investigation halted. This is no coincidence. This is the judicial system established by SDS and DUI, which continues to protect their people and interests to this day, VMRO-DPMNE spokesperson Valentin Manasievski, told reporters on Monday.
“SDS and DUI lost power, but their judges and prosecutors remain the last line of defense for the system they spent years creating. Islam Abazi, Vilma Ruskovska, Dobrila Kacarska, and Afrim Fidani are among the few judges and prosecutors who fiercely shield former SDS and DUI officials from accountability,” added Manasievski.
The ruling party representative stresses that whenever someone from their circle ought to be held accountable, cases drag on, investigations are closed, and verdicts are overturned. This is why citizens do not trust the judiciary.
“From the Laskarci and Modular Hospital cases to the “Mazut” scandal, the same judicial network protects the same political structures. The judiciary should be a bastion of justice, not a bastion of SDS and DUI,” noted Manasievski.
The era of the untouchables must come to an end. There must be accountability for all, Manasievski underlined.
