The ruling VMRO-DPMNE said on Monday that the issue with the contaminated drinking water in Gostivar is not new, but, as the party states, is the result of ‘decades of negligence’ of the previous authorities led by SDSM, DUI and ArbenTaravari.
The ruling party’s press release points out that SDSM leader VenkoFilipche should not use the current situation for political attacks, but rather answer why, as a former Minister of Health, he did not react when the analyzes showed that the water in Gostivar did not meet the legal criteria.
“Instead of trying to score political points now, Filipche should answer where he was and why he was silent when during the SDS-led government there were serious indications that the drinking water in Gostivar did not meet the legal criteria,” VMRO-DPMNE stressed.
The ruling party claims that the documentation shows that as early as November 11, 2020, microbiological analyses registered an increased number of coliform bacteria, which determined that the water should not be used for drinking. According to VMRO-DPMNE, the same conclusions were made on February 15 and March 1, 2021, when it was again determined that the water did not meet the prescribed safety criteria.
