VMRO-DPMNE spokesperson Valentin Manasievski harshly criticized SDSM leader Venko Filipche and former Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, accusing them of “taking power and amnesty would take the country to the abyss”.
“Macedonia must not succumb to the criminal past of Filipche and Zaev, who would take the country to the abyss for the sake of power and amnesty,” Manasievski told a press briefing Thursday.
The ruling party representative accused Filipche and Zaev of having already made concessions to the detriment of the country, referring to the constitutional amendments and the agreement with Greece.
“Filipce and Zaev have already changed the Constitution once and sold the name for so-called EU accession, which they certainly did not get,” said Manasievski, adding that there’s a danger of a new concession, i.e. the inclusion of Bulgarians in the Constitution.
According to Manasievski, such a step could open new blockages and vetoes by official Sofia.
Manasievski also assesses that Filipche’s low rating is a reason for “serving other countries”.
“It’s clear to Filipche that with such an insignificant rating, a disintegrated party and incompetence – the only way he could come to power is by serving other countries and their authorities,” said the party representative.
The VMRO-DPMNE spokesperson said that Filipche “will never be in power in Macedonia”, and also announced responsibility for, as Manasievski said, “Filipche’s own crime”.
