The Macedonian Electricity Transmission System Operator – MEPSO warns farmers in the height of the irrigation and harvest season to be especially careful while handling irrigation equipment, agricultural machinery and additional agricultural equipment near power lines from the transmission network.

“It is of utmost importance that farmers adhere to the following guidelines: Do not drive combine harvesters or other robust agricultural machinery under the power lines, do not install irrigation piping systems under the power lines in transmission lines, do not raise the metal pipes of the irrigation systems under the conductor ropes of transmission lines because metal is a conductor of electricity and do not burn stubble near a transmission line because the reliability of the power system is threatened,” urged MEPSO.
