Minister of Justice Renata Deskoska sent a letter to all Presidents of Courts and the President of the Judicial Council.

In the letter, the Minister points to the amendments to the Law on Courts of April this year, with a particular focus on the grounds for unprofessional and reckless exercise of judicial office.

As a basis for determining the unprofessional and reckless performance of the judicial office, cases are provided where a judge without justified reasons does not schedule hearings in cases assigned to him or otherwise delay the court proceedings.
Another ground for establishing liability is if the judge fails to take the case to work which results in the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution or the expiry of a criminal sanction for the crime.
