As the ninth parliamentary composition in the history of North Macedonia concludes, I would like to recognize the significant progress that has been made over the past three years, U.S. Ambassador to North Macedonia Kate Byrnes wrote in a statement posted on the embassy’s Facebook page.
This, the statement read, includes the ratification of the NATO accession protocol, the ratification and steps to implement the Prespa Agreement, the ratification of the Friendship Treaty with Bulgaria as well as the adoption of the Laws on the National Security Agency and Operational Technical Agency, the Law on Languages, amendments to the Law on Defense, the Law on Protection and Prevention of Discrimination, and the Law on the Public Prosecutor’s Office, to cite a few.
“These accomplishments demonstrate North Macedonia’s commitment to a reform agenda, for the benefit of its citizens and to help secure its transatlantic future,” the ambassador pointed out.
