Government warns against price gouging in pharmacies amid coronavirus concerns

The Government of North Macedonia welcomes the decision of institutions and organizations, both central and local, to cancel all larger public gatherings until March 6 for the purpose of preventing the spread of the coronavirus.

In a press release, the Government calls on all other organizations, as well as the citizens, to follow this recommendation and take on responsibility in contributing towards preventing the spread of the coronavirus.

In addition, the Government urges the Market Inspectorate and the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices to inspect and control the stocks in pharmacies for coronavirus protection, and undertake measures if it finds cases of price gouging.

The Government of North Macedonia, the press release reads, assures the public that all precautions taken by the Ministry of Health, as well as guidelines by the relevant institutions, are delivering the expected results in the prevention and control of coronavirus.
