VMRO-DPME leader Hristijan Mickoski spoke on TV21 yesterday about the state of
emergency in the country due to the coronavirus.
"We held that press conference seven days, ago when we asked for a crisis situation
because we felt that a crisis situation that is higher level of population protection
could be prevented from further spreading this pandemic that we are up against. It
was 7 days ago after yesterday's presentation of our positions during a conversation
with President Pendarovski and the further development of events, most notably his
appearance on a television station where he said that the state had virtually no
power to declare a crisis in the entire territory of the country. It would practically lead
the state to collapse, explained Mickoski.
Mickoski added that the health of the citizens was above all and that we should fight
to preserve it.
He also thanked those who are at the forefront in tackling the epidemic, but also
called on the authorities to consider VMRO-DPMNE's proposals.
