The fact that the EU found the will, the energy and strength to make the decision to open accession talks with North Macedonia and Albania during these trying times is a very important signal for us, Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov told Brussels-based publication Politico.
“Once the coronavirus is behind us, we have a European future before us. It’s a beam of light in this darkness all around,” Dimitrov said Tuesday, following the decision of the General Affairs Council of the EU to green-light the start of accession negotiations with North Macedonia without additional preconditions.
