World Bank: Macedonian economy going into recession

The World Bank in its latest Spring 2020 Economic Update for North Macedonia
notes that near-term outlook – similarly to other countries in the region – is dim due
to the COVID-19 crisis, with the economy going into recession in 2020. Fiscal,
competition, and governance reforms will be needed to sustainably accelerate
economic recovery once the crisis subsides.
