Health Minister Venko Filipce expects about 2,000-2,500 people to be infected with the coronavirus during the peak of the outbreak. He urged citizens to be disciplined, to avoid gatherings and abide by the protective measures.
However, Macedonia is again with devastating results on the lists that make statistics on infected and deaths from the coronavirus.
Among the countries in the region, only Slovenia has worse numbers, according to the latest figures.
According to the number of deaths due to coronavirus per million inhabitants, Macedonia has 23 cases, while Slovenia has 29. All other countries have a lower numbers.
19 deaths per 1 million inhabitants were registered in Turkey, in Bosnia and Herzegovina 13, Serbia 12, and Greece 10.
Albania and Croatia are countries with 9 deaths caused by COVID-19 per million inhabitants, and Montenegro and Bulgaria with 6 deaths each.
