Director of the Institute of Public Health Shaban Memedi, in his guest appearance on TV 24, stressed that it is not safe to go to the polls in twenty days after the state of emergency in the country is lifted. According to him, the most important thing is the health of the citizens.

“The state of emergency will be lifted based on the recommendations of the commission for the Minister of Health. We will monitor the situation, we will see the results of how they will turn out with COVID-19 and based on that we will give recommendations to the Ministry of Health, the Government and other institutions. I do not believe that twenty days after the state of emergency is over, it is safe to go to the polls. “Someone mentioned going to the polls with masks, but it won’t change anything if we hold elections in a month or two, our citizens’ health is still the number  one priority,” Memeti added.
