A 42-hour-long lockdown has begun in Macedonia on Sunday at 11 am. The lockdown ends on Tuesday at 5 am. The measure was adopted at a government session on Friday afternoon and differs from the proposal of the Committee for Infectious Diseases, whose members recommended the so-called “lockdown” begins on Saturday at 7 pm and ends on Tuesday at 5 am.

The citizens had six hours to carry out their daily duties outside their homes, but also to purchase the necessary groceries for the extended holiday weekend in which two holidays fall on the same day this year – the Day of the All-Slavic educators St. Cyril and Methodius and Ramadan Bajram-Eid el Fitr.
