VMRO-DPMNE has a steady lead in public opinion polls published recently, and said
less than a month before the snap parliamentary elections, it has an lead of tens of
thousands of votes, which allows it to get very close to the number needed for
support to form a government.
According to the latest poll conducted by the Habeas Corpus Institute, as many as
22.5 percent of citizens said they would vote for VMRO-DPMNE if parliamentary
elections were held tomorrow. The SDSM/BESA coalition has less trust among the
citizens and according to the poll, it would get the vote of 20 percent of them.
In the Albanian bloc, 6.1 percent would vote for DUI, while 4.5 percent of the
respondents would vote for the Coalition Alliance of Albanians and Alternative.
At the same time, such a result makes VMRO-DPMNE "resistant" to pressure and
conditioning and the necessity of coalition with DUI. Especially after Ali Ahmeti's
party in the last elections left the imposed principle of a government coalition of the
winner in the Macedonian and Albanian electorate.
