Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime raids the State Election Commission

The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime entered Tuesday in the State Election Commission (SEC) to establish if there was a crime in the procurement procedure of a software for the institution. The prosecutors seized documents linked with the contract with the software company that prepared the program that presented voting results.

The procedure for procuring software for the SEC website on which the results of the snap parliamentary elections were to be published live was completed on July 8, 2020, when the filed complaint by iVote company, that launched a competing bid and maintained the SEC website since 2006 without any problems, i.e. since the establishment of the SEC as a permanent body,was rejected.
