DUI leader Ali Ahmeti was summoned by the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Kosovo as a witness as one of the founders of the KLA for the 1998/2000 period, said his fellow party member and First Deputy Prime Minister Artan Grubi, who claimed that Ahmeti was being questioned by Hague investigators over activities in Kosovo, not in Macedonia.

“The invitation to testify came through our prosecution, and it states in what capacity he was invited – as a witness to his role as the founder of the KLA and as one of the co-founders of the Kosovo People’s Movement for the period from 1998 to 2000. And just for this period and for those activities. Throughout the interrogation there were no questions about any other activities in Macedonia or in any other country. He acts as a witness only for the events in Kosovo 98/00 and that is the mandate of the Special Prosecutor’s Office in Kosovo,” Grubi told Sitel TV.
