The twelve foreigners who are registered on Monday as new COVID-19 cases in Gevgelija are part of the Czech police contingent within the border control towards Greece.

40 members of the Czech police this week were to be replaced by a new contingent and therefore requested COVID-19 testing in the Center for Public Health – Gevgelija. None of the officers had any symptoms, but the results showed that 12 police officers were infected. They were immediately placed in isolation, after which it will be decided whether they will return to the Czech Republic or stay in Macedonia until recovery. All their colleagues are placed in isolation.

Another 30 police officers from Austria and Slovenia are being tested.
