Selective law enforcement, high corruption, setbacks and a bad economy remain problems for the Republic of Macedonia, notes the US State Department report for 2019, which the media close to the government of SDSM and Zoran Zaev are trying to hide.

“Businesses lay off employees”, “the country lags behind 31st in Doing Business”, “Corruption remains a problem”, “Anti-corruption law enforcement is weak and selectively targeted at government critics and low-level offenders.

There are credible allegations of corruption in law enforcement, the judiciary, and many other sectors. Many businesses that work, including some US businesses, have identified corruption as a problem in government tenders and the judiciary,” the State Department said in a statement.
