An act of disrespect and a real scandal is that at the traditional laying of flowers in front of the monument of Goce Delchev in Skopje did not find it necessary for any senior government official to bow and pay homage to the giant, said VMRO-DPMNE in a statement.

“It is unfortunate that those who are supposed to defend the work and merits of Goce Delchev in the negotiations with the eastern neighbor did not find it necessary to bow before his monument on the Day of the Revolutionary Struggle on October 23. It shows that Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, Radmila Shekerinska and Nikola Dimitrov are extras in the process and do not have elementary respect for the merits of the revolutionary movement and the hero Goce Delchev,” the party’s reaction reads.

VMRO-DPMNE says that the government led by the center-left SDSM “owes an explanation” of the duties of the Prime Minister and its numerous vice presidents because they could not pay due respect to the country’s hero Goce Delchev, whose national origin is currently disputed with neighboring Bulgaria.
