A 40-year old man from Skopje was kicked out from the COVID center of the CGH September 8 because he asked to be examined during the weekend. The patient positive for COVID-19, with shortness of breath and chest pain, sought medical help at the largest hospital in Skopje, but was not admitted because it was Saturday. He was told to come back on Monday.

“I asked the people who were in front of the door, is this the September 8 COVID Center? They told me yes, but don’t bother going in, they are not admitting anyone today. I did not listen to them and went inside. No one paid any attention to me. I was told that they did not work or admit patients during the weekend. The disease does not know whether it is a weekend or not. I went on Saturday because then my situation got worse. And now I’m still sick, I can’t breathe,” said Ilija from Skopje, a patient positive for COVID-19.
