The state of crisis declared nationwide in the next 30 days by the government after being proposed by the Security Council has allowed the Army to be deployed to support the police and healthcare institutions, President Stevo Pendarovski says Saturday.

Under the Law on Crisis Management, the Army will help the police guard facilities of strategic importance, hospitals, and guard warehouses for storing medicines and other protective medical equipment.

“I believe that such aid and support is more than needed for the health authorities and the police after being on the frontline against the COVID-19 pandemic for nine months. They are literally exhausted,” Pendarovski says in a Facebook post.
