Tobacco farmers and buyers will sit on Friday at a joint table in the Ministry of Agriculture and negotiate the low purchase price of tobacco.
The tobacco farmers agreed to stop the protests until they reach a compromise. The union of the tobacco associations will withdraw their trustees from the purchase points from tomorrow and there will be no redemption. This is the conclusion after today’s meeting of the Minister of Agriculture Arjanit Hoxha.
The members of the initiative board for protests are satisfied with the outcome of the meeting with the head of the Ministry of Agriculture. If the purchase prices in the Prilep tobacco factory are within the real value of labor. That is not the case with other buyers.
When asked why there are no objections to the low purchase prices to the second-instance commissions. Tobacco farmers respond that such unfounded remarks do not solve the problem.
