Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate judges and mayors’ property

The State Commission for Prevention of Corruption of the Republic of North Macedoniaan nounced its plan to examine the property of public officials, and will said it will begin with investigating judges, mayors and other officials in 2021.

“In the first quarter of the year, in the run up to the municipal elections, we will examine 15 mayors and the Mayor of Skopje. We can’t look into all of them, so we will select them depending on their property reports”, said Anti-Corruption President Biljana Ivanovska.

During the second quarter, Ivanovska said that her agency will investigate judges. During third quarter the commission will investigate government officials, which is an obligation from GRECO.
