Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani presented the new draft text of the Law on Foreign Affairs on Tuesday. This Law, according to the FM, introduces a new system of employment, evaluation and a new way of promoting diplomats.
He pointed out at Tuesday’s press conference that this law reduces the discretionary rights of the minister.
“If in the current legal solution the Minister appoints the directors without any special procedure in the Ministry, in the new Law we envisage a Commission that will rank diplomats who meet certain criteria that will be proposed to the Minister to elect a director of certain directorates,” said the head of diplomacy.
