Stevo Pendarovski also became part of the market-political operation called the census according to Zoran Zaev’s standards. Instead of a real statistical picture, obviously the government is determined to conduct a census without a clear methodology and without social consensus, says VMRO-DPMNE.
“It is a classic case of political operation. That this considered is a policy, not a statistic, is shown by the fact that the whole operation is done in an epidemic, when many countries in the region and Europe postpone their censuses in order to protect their citizens, but also to get an accurate picture. The government in Macedonia, on the contrary, is in a hurry in order to hide its political agreement. From this forced census in which all constructive proposals of the opposition were rejected, all citizens will suffer, especially Macedonia. VMRO-DPMNE clearly stands behind the need for a census in Macedonia, but as a statistical and not a political operation. That is why VMRO-DPMNE will start collecting civil signatures in order to annul the Law,” reads the party statement.
