So far, many citizens in the region have been vaccinated against COVID-19, because the process itself began in some countries in December, while vaccination in Macedonia began on February 17, and the citizens are not satisfied with the pace.
Health Minister Venko Filipche in an interview with Sitel TV a few days ago stated that up to 4,000 citizens will be vaccinated per week. At the pace set by Filipche, it will take 79 weeks to use those 316,000 vaccines, i.e. 200,000 vaccines from Sinopharm plus 103,000 AstraZeneca and 13,000 Pfizer from Serbia, and the purchased ones, as announced. Which means that by the end of August 2022 Macedonia will have 158,000 vaccinated citizens, which is not even 10% of the total population.
