VMRO-DPMNE started Saturday the initiative to collect signatures for annulment of the law on population census. The action lasts on Sunday at more than 300 locations across the country, starting from 12:00 to 15:00. On Saturday, in just a few hours, 25,000 citizens signed against the census, at more than 300 locations throughout Macedonia.
Citizens do not accept a falsified census that is not realistic and not according to European standards. However, despite the collection of signatures by VMRO-DPMNE from the ruling party SDSM, they do not give up and push for conducting the census.
“The initiative for collecting party signatures against the Law on Census will not prevent this process, which is important for the citizens and for the future of the country. The census that will be held this spring, will be conducted in accordance with all international standards and finally, as a country we will have complete, accurate and relevant data that will serve to create sustainable long-term development policies, “said SDSM MP SnezanaKaleska-Vancheva.
The opposition VMRO-DPMNE believes that if Prime Minister ZoranZaev has at least an ounce of virtue after the message sent to him by the citizens with the mass signing, he would withdraw the census law.
