The Commission on Infectious Diseases will issue a recommendation that travelers from all African countries quarantine at home for two weeks, according to the Ministry of Health following reports that travelers from Zanzibar tested positive for COVID-19. It is yet to be determined whether they have the South Africa strain.

According to the MoH, the South Africa coronavirus variant has not been detected in the country so far.

Lab tests are underway to see if the two people who returned from a trip to Zanzibar were infected with the variant. They were hospitalized immediately after they showed symptoms of COVID-19.
