Textile industry continues to decline, owners warn of mass layoffs if there’s no state aid

In the upcoming period, the companies expect a drop in sales by 50 percent and additional cancellation of orders, but even now, the situation is catastrophic, because according to the information, the facilities are barely working.

Headof the Association of Textile and Leather Industry at the Economic Chamber of NrthMacedonia Angel Dimitrov said that the production has almost stopped and that the textile industry is facing serious challenges for survival. He says that if a law on financial support for wages is not passed, 20% of employees in the textile industry will be laid off.
