The promises of Health Minister Venko Filipche that Macedonia will become the first country in the region to vaccinate the health workers who are in the frontline in the fight against COVID-19, lagging behind.

The number of vaccinated health workers is currently around 5,300. The process of vaccination of health workers goes much slower than expected.

According to the Fund, there are about 20,000 employed health workers, of which about 2,000 have gone abroad, and in Macedonia there are about 17-18,000 left. With the pace at which Health Minister VenkoFilipche is going, it is highly unlikely that all health workers will be vaccinated soon.
