The situation of continued delay of the start of EU accession negotiations is unsustainable for the region, for the credibility of the enlargement process and for the EU, said Bujar Osmani on Saturday.

“Considering all arguments and the fact that North Macedonia met all criteria, even exceeded them, we have to start the negotiations, since 35 percent of the EU Acquis is already part of our legislation,” FM Osmani told a press conference.

According to him, all required reforms have been realized and all political issues standing in the way have been closed.

“I believe these arguments and the talks with the Bulgarian government will be sufficient prerequisites for the start of the negotiations without delay. Of course, the Friendship Treaty is part of the country’s obligations,” added Osmani.
