24,000 AstraZeneca vaccines finally arrive in Macedonia

The 24,000 AstraZeneca vaccines that arrived through the COVAX Facility at the Skopje-based airport on Sunday are produced in Korea. The vaccination process is set to begin in health institutions on Wednesday.

Health Minister Venko Filipche said 20,000 people over the age of 75, suffering from chronic illnesses, would be inoculated first. 76,000 more jabs from the same manufacturer are expected by the end of April.

Since the onset of the epidemic, Macedonia has registered 126,230 confirmed coronavirus cases, and death toll has reached 3,642.
