Vladimir Neloski, President of the City Committee Skopje of VMRO-DPMNE, in an interview with news portal Infomax says that in Macedonia the mafia has its own state, pointing out that in recent years they have alerted several times about this, to finally see the entire Macedonian public what exactly is it about.

“The Mafia has its own state, unfortunately. We have expressed this many times in the past few years and only ten days ago the public saw what exactly and specifically we meant. Unfortunately, Macedonia as a country is at the center of world media events not because of any sporting, international or economic success, but after criminal success,” says Neloski.

“Unfortunately, Macedonia became Panama in the 80s and 90s, a country that in a way is a haven and refuge for criminals. I am not talking about petty criminals, I am talking about criminals of the caliber of Pablo Escobar, of the caliber of cartels in Mexico. Unfortunately, Macedonia and those in power collected and distributed passports and in a way allowed them to work freely what they know best, and that is criminal activities. Unfortunately, the government has helped five organized mafias to operate, and in a way we are a black hole not only in the Balkans, but also in Europe,” Neloski concluded.
