In order to stop the spread of the coronavirus, the number of infected people should be reduced below 20 per day, epidemiologist DraganDanilovski told Kanal 5 TV.

He said he was optimistic about when it could be said that the epidemic was finally over and that it was likely to happen in early July.

“The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter because that so-called effective reproduction number is around 0.5. This means that out of 10 infected, ill, only five can be infected. This means that a slowdown, a slowing of the epidemic, is inevitable. On the other hand, collective immunity is certainly already around 60 percent, maybe somewhere around 65 percent. Also, the average rate of positive tests has finally dropped below three percent, and something very important, the so-called 14-day average incidence, means an average number of new cases, yesterday is already 55 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants, that is somewhere around 11.3 percent less than the previous day when we had 62,” stressed Danilovski.
