18 deaths, 50 new COVID-19 cases

Of the 2,955 people tested for the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, 50 received a positive result, the Ministry of Health said in a press release Friday.

Of the new COVID-19 cases, 27 were diagnosed in Skopje. New cases were also recorded in Kumanovo – 5, Prilep – 4, Gostivar – 3, Tetovo, Veles, Shtip and Kichevo – 2 each, and one case each in Strumica, Gevgelija, and Vinica.

In the past 24 hours, 81 people recovered from the virus, and 18 people died: eight in Skopje (aged 63, 67, 69, 72, 72, 77, 80, and 88), three in Tetovo (aged 75, 76, 78), two in Bitola (aged 84, 88) and one each in Prilep (aged 68), Kavadarci (aged 79), Kochani (aged 74), Radovish (80) and Debar (55).

Seven of them died at home and the other eleven in hospital.

At the moment, 2,449 cases are active nationwide.
