VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski at Tuesday’s press conference on the UNESCO report said that the past four years have been lost and stolen for Ohrid and Ohridians, pointing out that his assumption is that in the future the government will bargain with mafia structures for plots, tenders and legalization of illegal buildings, i.e. as he said he will not be surprised if next year the grade is even worse or ultimately the status of the city is not taken away.

“Do we need an additional comment than the one of UNESCO? Four lost and stolen years for Ohrid, the citizens of Ohrid and Macedonia by the local and central government. I guess they will bargain for these local elections with various semi-mafia structures for a long time that will be blackmailed for plots, tenders, legalization, so I will not be surprised if next year the grade is even worse and deprive us of the status of a city that which is a protected natural and cultural world heritage”, says Mickoski.
