Illegal constructions have no place at Ohrid lakeside and should be removed, says EU Ambassador David Geer in support of the ongoing activities.

“The region’s unique natural and cultural wealth – recognized by UNESCO – must be preserved. By protecting Ohrid’s heritage now, we also invest in jobs and the hospitality industry today and tomorrow,” tweeted Ambassador Geer.

Ohrid Mayor Konstantin Georgieski thanked Ambassador Geer for the support.

“I am especially proud that our strategic partners from the EU recognize our efforts for observance of the rule of law by putting an end to the decades-long degradation of the lake shore,” says Georgievski in a Facebook post.
