Stoilkovski: If Zaev accepts a solution as reported in the Bulgarian media, the VMRO-DPMNE-led government will not accept it

The whole day passed, and Zoran Zaev and SDSM did not directly distance themselves from the details written and described in the Bulgarian media and transmitted by the world media services, referring to Zaev’s meetings in Sofia. They did not directly and precisely distance themselves from the precise descriptions of the offered formula by Zaev, about which the Bulgarian newspapers write about the offered formula for “the same language internationally recognized Macedonian and Bulgarian as two languages”, VMRO-DPMNE spokesperson Naum Stoilkovski said at today’s press conference.

“A whole day has passed, and none of the Bulgarian politicians with whom Zaev was seen in Sofia came out with a denial of the details described in the Bulgarian newspapers about Zaev’s offer before them,” Stoilkovski said, adding that this was not the first time the Macedonian public had detailed information to learn from Zaev’s conversations with his entourage about identity issues from foreign reports.

“If Zaev does not directly distance himself from the allegations, Zaev silently accepts the negative thesis before the Macedonian public that Macedonian and Bulgarian are the same languages, ie that until the codification of the Macedonian language in 1945, the Macedonian language was a form or dialect of the Bulgarian language. With Zaev’s silence and without a direct denial, Zaev confirms the Bulgarian theses.

There are two key questions: Why did Zaev not directly distance himself from offering a solution that means that Macedonian and Bulgarian are the same languages, as the Bulgarian media write, and second: Zoran Zaev to publicly say what exactly he proposed as a solution to the Bulgarian side?

The absence of a direct detachment from the details described in the Bulgarian media, but also the behavior of SDSM in the Parliament, the escape from reaching conclusions of the parliamentary commission for passing a Parliamentary Declaration that identity issues must not be negotiated, shed a different light than what is trying to be covered with general denials and phrases about the alleged return of the dialogue between Skopje and Sofia expressed yesterday by the Macedonian government.

We point out that if Zaev accepts such a solution or formulation as it is written in the Bulgarian media, the future government of VMRO-DPMNE will not accept it and will abandon the agreement,” Stoilkovski said.
