The Government of Montenegro has recalled the honorary consul in Skopje Branko Azeski, Montenegrin media reported.

The government explained the move by saying that the recalled ambassador had tried to disparage and compromise the highest authorities in Montenegro by presenting his personal remarks and predictions regarding the work of the government.

The decision to recall was reportedly made at the last session of the Montenegrin government.

According to the decision signed by Prime Minister ZdravkoKrivokapic, the Interior Ministry learned that Azeski, in performing his duties as honorary consul, used every opportunity to express doubts about Montenegro’s reputation and the credibility of its bodies.

It was also clarified that the security authorities particularly noted Azeski’s conversations with prominent businessmen from various fields, during which he tried, as stated, to disparage and compromise the highest authorities in Montenegro, presenting his personal remarks and predictions regarding the work of the Government of Montenegro.
