Ombudsman Naser Ziberi told the media Friday that he is waiting for an answer from the Ministry of Interior about the reasons for the delay in issuing personal documents and license plates for vehicles.

The ombudsman said that the request was submitted on Wednesday and he expects to receive a response from the ministry in eight days, after which the ombudsman’s office will address the Government to take measures regarding the Ministry of Interior, i.e. the responsible persons.

“During this week we had public addresses for certificates and personal documents. There are individual complaints about some of the problems with the license plates, but we also opened a case ex officio. We concluded that the citizens are put in an unenviable situation and are denied basic rights to drive their vehicles and leave the country. We asked the internal control, after locating the responsibility, to take appropriate measures for the responsible persons,” Ziberi said.
