The fiasco in the part of investments, more precisely in the part of foreign direct investments in Macedonia continues in 2021. Foreign direct investments in the country for the first three months of 2021 amount to a modest 25.6 million euros, said Goce Dimovski from the ranks of VMRO-DPMNE on Tuesday.

Dimovski pointed out that the inflows of funds based on foreign direct investment are low and most often come from companies already operating in Macedonia. If a comparison is made with other countries in the region, he added, it can be concluded that Macedonia is stuck at the bottom in terms of the inflow of foreign direct investment.

The inflow of foreign direct investments for the first three months of 2021 in neighboring Kosovo is 5 times higher compared to Macedonia, the inflow of foreign direct investment for the first three months of 2021 in neighboring Albania is 9 times higher compared to Macedonia, while the inflow of foreign direct investment for the first three months of 2021 in neighboring Serbia is 37 times higher compared to Macedonia, Dimovski said.
