The Parliamentary Committee on Political System and Inter-Community Relations held two sessions today, the 17th and 28th. At the first session on the agenda was the Draft-Law on Amending the Law on ID Card, in first reading. The draft-law is forwarded for further debate in the Parliament, in the first reading.

The chair of the Commission for Political System and Inter-Community Relations Sonja Mirakovska told MIA that this law is a proposal of the Ministry of Interior.

“The changes introduced in this law refer to the possibility for the citizens who are not Macedonians, and more than 20%, to be able to enter the data in the ID card ex officio and in their language. Also, people who are not Macedonians, and are less than 20 percent, at their request will be able to enter the data in the language they speak,” said Mirakovska.

She expressed hope that at the next Parliament session it will be put on the agenda, for discussion in front of the MPs.

At the 28th session, the members of the Committee on Political System and Inter-Community Relations reviewed the Draft-Law on Amending the Law on Unregistered Persons in the Birth Registry, in summary procedure – in second reading. It was submitted by MP Ljatife Shikovska.
