Macedonia leads the most corrupt government in Europe and that is why the Macedonian economy is sinking day by day. In one year, 6,200 companies are closed and there are 60 thousand new unemployed, and about 600 thousand people live on the poverty line, says opposition VMRO-DPMNE.
“Zaev’s government, instead of the standard of the citizens, cares how to increase the standard of the elite around them. 65% of the workers receive less than 25 thousand denars. Additionally, they face increasing product prices every day. Fuels and electricity have become more expensive, green taxes and duties are introduced that have nothing to do with the environment, but by filling the empty budget. The consumer basket is getting more expensive, and the people are getting poorer. Macedonia’s public debt has exceeded 7 billion euros, and the government forecasts that it will grow to an even more incredible 8.5 billion euros or almost 66% of GDP. This is 6 percentage points more than the limit provided by the Maastricht criterion. By the way, there are no capital investments, no new highways, hospitals, schools and student cities, everything that Zaev and SDSM promised, but which did not materialize during these four years,” reads the party’s press release.
VMRO-DPMNE say that these four years of Zaev’s rule are four stolen years for the citizens.
“These four years have spent the largest budgets in history, and there are no results from that. We only see the enrichment of the people in power on the one hand, and the impoverishment of the vast majority of citizens. This must stop. Zaev must be defeated,” the party said.
