EU sends assistance to help fight wildfires

The European Union will send equipment and assistance to help N. Macedonia fight wildfires, European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management JanezLenarčič tweeted on Thursday.

“The EU is sending additional firefighting capacities to Greece and North Macedonia to support the local response. Help is coming from Sweden, France, Austria and Bulgaria and the European Union’s Copernicus satellite,” read Lenarčič ‘s tweet.

Bulgaria and Slovenia, as well as Serbia, have already provided assistance for Macedonia’s firefighting efforts.
