The superhuman efforts of the residents, the firefighters and all those involved in the extinguishing saved the “St. Petka” monastery from the fire that has been raging for more than 10 hours in Pehchevo. Currently the situation is under control, and the extinguishing continues with four vehicles that arrived to help from Bulgaria. During the fire, as informed by the residents who participated in the extinguishing all day, the combine harvesters were harvesting in order to save the grain and to save the crop from the flames.

Fortunately, the monastery was saved, it was extinguished on time. It is not too late for the help that came from Bulgaria because it needs help from Chiflik, Umlena and Robovo, because from there it can transfer very easily to Pehchevo. An Army helicopter arrived in the afternoon. Firefighters from the Forestry and the population also went out. Any assistance is welcome, says a Pehchevo resident.
