McAllister and Brown show support for new local politics and capacity building of future VMRO-DPMNE mayors and councilors at Konrad Adenauer Academy

David McAllister, Vice President of the European People’s Party, Daniel Brown, the official representative of the Foundation Adenauer, as well as Hristijan Mickoski, leader of VMRO-DPMNE and Stefan Andonovski, member of the VMRO-DPMNE Executive Committee and President of PIAC “Ljubisha Georgievski” addressed today’s event on the occasion of the opening of the Political Academy of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation “Fostering Democracy at the Local Level”.

Mr. David McAllister pointed out that according to him, the attention of all political parties should be focused on improving the lives of the population in local areas.

“You as a party and you Hristijan Mickoski as president have our support, i.e. the support of Konrad Adenauer. Free and fair elections must now be held on October 17, ” said Mr. McAllister and wished the participants successful work.

In his address, Mr. Daniel Brown stressed that local politics is the basic policy that underpins a healthy democratic society.

“That is why this political academy organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and PIAC “Ljubisha Georgievski” is designed through a rich and diverse program with the participation of domestic experts and experienced experts from Germany in the field of local politics to contribute to capacity building of future mayors and councilors of VMRO-DPMNE. Local politics is the one that is closest to the citizen and political representatives have a direct responsibility to their fellow citizens,” he said.
