According to the latest data on GDP for the second quarter of 2021, if we are lucky by the end of the year, the gross domestic product will return to the level of 2019. Unfortunately, the growth that was proudly announced yesterday, even before the calendar date of Statistics, does not compensate for last year’s decline of 15%, says opposition VMRO-DPMNE.

The party points out that although the growth in the second quarter does not offset the decline of 15% from last year, it should be borne in mind that in the first quarter the decline in GDP was -1.9%.

At the same time, the high-frequency data of the State Statistical Office show that the industry has a problem with recovery, namely as of July, the growth of the industry is about 5% compared to the dizzying decline from last year of about 14%. At the same time, the industry continues to lay off workers, according to the latest state statistics.
