Three people threatened me to stop making statements to the press, to be careful because I could get killed. I told them I am not running away anywhere, Emshiu told Deutsche Welle, without specifying where the threats came from.

“The father and brother I lost have documents and an address in Italy, and if necessary we will seek justice there as well. The people I lost will never come back, but there must be punishment for the mistakes made in that hospital. I will seek justice to the very end,” he said.

He was not the only one in the modular hospital who took care of his loved ones. He says that almost every patient had someone close to them, providing medical care around the clock.
