All those who cannot prove the origin of a property worth over EUR 30,000, acquired in the previous year, will have that property confiscated, reads the draft-Law on Property Origin.
Deputy PM for fighting corruption LjupchoNikolovski told a conference on detecting and reducing informal economy on Wednesday that the draft-text of the law is ready and set to be evaluated by the Venice Commission.
The law will not relate only to officials but all citizens, because experience has shown that officials assign the unlawfully acquired property to other persons and then take it back after leaving office.
“The civil procedure established by this law will be swift and the threshold that is currently incorporated in the draft-text is EUR 30,000,” said Nikolovski.
